Lynn McBee, CEO of Young Women’s Preparatory Network

Appointed Workforce Czar for the City of Dallas in 2022 by Mayor Eric Johnson, Lynn leads efforts to close skills gaps, align training with growing industries and expand support for jobseekers. She spearheads targeted upskilling initiatives, strengthens partnerships among employers, community colleges, and workforce boards.

She is driving modernization of the public safety workforce, including leading fundraising for the Dallas Regional Law Enforcement Training Center (Police Academy). Lynn served on the Dallas College Foundation board for over a decade and currently leads its fundraising to support student success and workforce alignment.

Lynn is also CEO of Young Women’s Preparatory Network (YWPN), a public-private partnership creating STEM-focused, all-girls schools. Under her leadership, YWPN grew from 5 to 12 campuses, tripled revenues, and delivered a 100% college acceptance rate, especially benefiting first-generation students.

As Chair of The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center, Lynn expanded shelter capacity and created recovery-to-housing pathways, providing refuge, job training, and case management for thousands.

A biochemistry graduate from the University of Texas, Lynn began her career at New England Biolabs, helping grow the company. She has contributed over 45,000 volunteer hours across 30+ nonprofits and held leadership roles on more than 100 boards and advisory committees.

Some of her honors include the Juanita Craft Humanitarian Visionary Award, VolunteerNow Lifetime Achievement, Maura Award, Texas Trailblazer Award, Dallas Business Journal Women in Business honoree and the UNCF Masked Award.
