CBS DFW features Dr. Katherine Landdeck for Women Veterans Day coverage

As part of its coverage of Women's Veterans Day on June 12, CBS DFW news visited the official archive of the Women Airforce Service Pilots, housed in the Texas Woman's University library.

Dr. Katherine Sharp Landdeck, associate professor of history and director of Pioneers Oral History Project at TWU, was interviewed. Dr. Landdeck is the acknowledged expert on WASP history and is the author of The Women With Silver Wings, the inspiring true story of the Women Airforce Service Pilots of World War II. She is also a licensed pilot.

The story included footage of the WASP archives, which are on permanent display in the TWU library second floor. The collection includes more than a million wartime and postwar items and the Women Airforce Service Pilots Digital Archive.

Also interviewed was Shirley Chase Kruse, who was a WASP flyer during World War II.
