Profile

Tianyi Li is a visiting assistant professor for the TWU MHA Program, where he teaches healthcare finance, financial accounting, and managerial accounting.  Professionally, Li is an emerging scholar focused on nonprofit finance and financial management.  His primary research interests include nonprofit finance, public policy, and philanthropic studies. He is a PhD candidate (ABD) at the University of Texas at Dallas. 

Li is an active member of several academic associations, including the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), the Association for Public Analysis and Management, the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action, and the International City/County Management Association. He was elected as the treasurer of the Section on Chinese Public Administration of ASPA and is currently serving in that role.  He also volunteers as the treasurer for the Dallas International School Parent Teacher Association to support his daughter. Beyond his academic achievements and service commitments, Li has a business background in marketing research and financial investment in both China and the US.
