Evans named to RSA Emerging Scholar Program

Angel Evans

Jan. 15, 2026 – DENTON – TWU’s Angel Evans, PhD and director of First-Year Composition, has been named to the Rhetoric Society of America’s 2026-27 Emerging Scholar Program cohort.

The RSA committee found Evans’s application a “thoughtful reflection on your academic journey and your vision for contributing to the field of rhetoric” and fostering inclusive academic spaces and innovative research interests.

The Emerging Scholar program cultivates and supports rhetorical leaders from diverse backgrounds.

The second cohort of the Emerging Scholars Program aims to clarify the practices and principles of academic life to equip a new generation of rhetorical leaders and expand the future possibilities for the RSA and the field of rhetoric.

The program offers a comprehensive mentoring experience, bringing together emerging leaders in rhetoric with established scholars and educators through in-person and virtual engagements.
