October is Cybersecurity Awareness month
The TWU Computer Science Division will celebrate Cybersecurity Awareness Month with expert-led lectures, hands-on events and creative challenges to build awareness about protecting information in the digital world. The events are open to all TWU students.
Schedule
- Oct 2 (11 a.m.-2 p.m.): Cybersecurity awareness booth at the Student Union. Stop by for swag and candy.
- October 6 (noon-1 p.m.): Lecture 1 – Introduction to Cryptography and Symmetric & Asymmetric Encryption. MCL Room 309.
- October 10: Student cybersecurity sticker submission due
- October 13 (noon-1 p.m.): Lecture 2 – Public Key Cryptography and Hash. MCL Room 309.
- October 20 (noon-1 p.m.): Lecture 3 – Hash Cracking with Dictionary Attack. MCL Room 309.
- October 23 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.): E-Waste recycling event – Parking lot near ROTC building, 1120 Club House Drive, Denton Campus
- October 24: Jargon file crossword due
- October 27 (noon-1 p.m.): Cybersecurity competition. MCL Room 309.
