Total hours for degree 120 hours. Up to 90 hours transferred from the AAS institution.

TWU: 30 hours must be taken at TWU. If a student enters into Dual Enrollment and is already core complete electives will need to be chosen and completed at TWU to achieve the 30 hours at TWU. This will vary per student. See TWU Catalog and TWU advisor to assist with current core options.

Degree conferred in August of last year if all requirements are met.

More information

  • MATH 1342 or TWU MATH 1703 prerequisite for DH 4713 Applied Dental Hygiene Research
  • GOVT 2305 or TWU GOV 2013 prerequisite for DH 4533 Oral Health Worldview
  • Students will not qualify for financial aid at TWU with less than six credit hours per semester. Scholarships may be available through TWU, but not guaranteed.

Transfer of Credit & Student Benefits

  • Reverse transfer of credit from TWU to LSC
  • Recognize eligibility for LSC students and employees to apply for transfer scholarship programs
  • Students jointly admitted to LSC and TWU will receive:
    • Student ID at LSC and TWU
    • Student computer/internet account at LSC and TWU
    • Student access to computer labs at LSC and TWU
    • Student access to libraries at LSC and TWU
    • Student access to sporting events at LSC and TWU
  • All grades, including F's, will be considered for calculation of GPA to determine admission to TWU. If a transferrable course has been taken more than once at another institution, TWU will accept the best grade awarded to the student for that course

Program Admission Requirements

  • Student must be concurrently enrolled in and complete the AAS in Dental Hygiene to maintain enrollment in the Dual-Enrollment program
  • Earn grades of C or better in all dental hygiene courses
  • Statistics, U.S. Government, English I and English II should be completed prior to taking TWU courses
  • Students will receive 37 hours of block credit for successful completion of the Lone Star College Dental Hygiene courses
