Stroke Boot Camp reflected shared commitment to experiential learning, community engagement, and team-based care. Through sustained collaboration, intentional program design, and a focus on scholarship, our team continues to drive interprofessional education forward, preparing students for the collaborative practice essential in today’s healthcare landscape.
2024 Recipients: Christina Bickley, PT, PhD (School of Physical Therapy); Suzanne Scheller, MS, RN (College of Nursing)
2024: Together Dr. Bickley and Ms. Scheller have implemented a communication skills IPE for over four years, this past year involving over 150 students and 30 faculty and community clinicians. Christina also serves as the faculty advisor to the IISO – Interprofessional Intercampus Student Organization.
2023 Recipients: Barb Baudler, MSN, RN (College of Nursing), Wayne Brewer, PT, PHD, MPH, OCS (School of Physical Therapy), Alicia F. Lohmann, OTD, OTR, CBIS (School of Occupational Therapy), Stacy Flynn, PT, DPT, CWS (School of Physical Therapy).
IPE simulation with PT, OT, and nursing with a focus on student self-efficacy regarding communication and collaboration. After three years of refinement, this project outcome includes one publication and four presentations.
