Center for Women Entrepreneurs launches virtual training program for startups

June 4, 2024 — DENTON — The Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership’s Center for Women Entrepreneurs (CWE) at Texas Woman’s University has launched a virtual training program to help early-stage entrepreneurs get their businesses up and running. The CWE will begin accepting applications for the CWE Virtual Accelerator starting June 11, 2024.

The training program will work through the KauffmanFastTrac® curriculum. Kauffman FastTrac® aims to lower barriers to entrepreneurship by providing practical learning materials, delivered online through teaching partners, including The Center for Women Entrepreneurs. FastTrac will encourage and equip more people to start businesses through this program. To learn more about the Kauffman Foundation, visit www.kauffman.org.

“We are excited to partner with the Kauffman FastTrac® program to launch the two virtual trainings,” said CWE Director Tracy Irby. “This initiative opens new doors for entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas with world-class support, regardless of their location in Texas.”

Twenty early-stage businesses in Texas will participate in the intensive training program facilitated by the CWE. There will be two separate cohorts: one during the day and the other during the evening to offer flexibility for participants.

The program will provide the Virtual Accelerator cohort with the following:

  • Direct access to a business advisor and mentors during and after the program.
  • Intensive entrepreneurial training from industry experts on vital business resources and processes.
  • Virtual Introductions to grow their network throughout Texas.
  • Access to business plan software to complete a comprehensive business plan.
