TWU Center for Global Nursing Transitions Leadership
The TWU Center for Global Nursing (CGN) announces a new director: Brenda Moore, PhD, RN-BC, CNE.
Moore, an associate professor in the TWU College of Nursing, joined the faculty in Fall 2018 after completing a Fulbright Scholarship at the University of Jordan School of Nursing.
Given Moore’s interest and experience in global nursing, she immediately became involved with the CGN.
Joan Edwards, PhD, RNC, CNS, FAAN becomes CGN Director Emeritus as she plans to retire in May 2021. Edwards sought a colleague to lead the CGN as director and quickly decided Moore was the ideal choice to expand upon the foundational work the CGN has built the past decade. TWU College of Nursing Dean Rosalie Mainous, PhD, APRN, FAANP, FAAN concurred.
“I am very honored to be in the position of director for this important organization. I believe that I bring a relationship with the Middle East and North Africa to the organization as well as a desire to increase opportunities for student service learning," Moore shared. "I look forward to increasing the CGN presence within the TWU community, the state of Texas, and around the world.”
Moore has recently been awarded a Fulbright Specialist position. The Fulbright Specialist Program sends U.S. faculty and professionals to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, institutional planning, and related subjects at academic institutions abroad for a period of 2-6 weeks.
