Artist's description: "My graphic is a profile of a person and in the space of the brain, is a loose shape of a paint palette, leaf, lightbulb, and the traces that are from a computer chip. These specific icons were chosen because they are recognizable icons of the various programs and the representation of ideas and brilliance of the lightbulb. I included a full version of the logo along with horizontal lockups and just the logomark for visualization of its applications. The one colored version is in black while the two-colored version utilizes maroon which falls within TWU’s brand guidelines. It represents the pioneers and highlights their brilliance. The choice to make the lightbulb be black was for emphasis on its representation of the pioneer’s brilliance. This design feels timeless and modern while not being overly generic or leaning towards either the arts or the sciences."

Artist description: "I hope to capture the innovation and creativity that is CAS. TWU’s lovely variety in CAS made this design a bit difficult to create. However, I tried to broadly represent as many of our wonderful peeps as possible in this icon. I read and categorized the program’s list into these: English, math, science, and art. I then sketched out as many symbols as I could of each one; i.e., pi, protractor, scales of justice, book, calculator, pencil, brush, palette, needle, thread, theater masks, microphone, music notes, instruments, ballet shoes, helix strand, beaker, microscope, [plus, minus, times, division] symbols, atom, computer. I then proceeded to pick an open-spaced symbol to act as the base (atom) and combine as many as possible. The atom’s three rings consist of: pencil and brush, a flute and book, a needle, thread, and helix strand, pi, and the TWU logo."

Artist's description: "This neuron-like/neuron sunflower graphic represents the degree programs offered by the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Woman’s University. It shows how different fields are inclusive within CAS. Axon (= flower_stem) and nerve ending (roots) represent strengthening and support provided by TWU. Each petal represents broadly different academic areas. The pi symbol and graph represent mathematics programs. The laptop represents computer science-based programs. The DNA strand and microscope represent biology programs. The puzzle brain represents the field of psychology. Dance and music notes represent performing arts programs. The fashion figures represent fashion studies programs. The paintbrush and palette represent art programs. The monument and capitol building represent history and political science-related fields. The airplane represents aviation science. The conical flask and chemical structures represent chemistry programs. The globe with people represents sociology and multicultural related studies. The recycling and landscape symbols represent environmental programs."
