Hubbard Hall Update - Feb. 27, 2021, 11:50 a.m.

All classes in the Student Union at Hubbard Hall have been relocated next week due to continuing repairs. See list of relocated classes.

This building will remain closed until further notice.

Denton Campus Update - Feb. 26, 2021, 3:15 p.m.

The Classroom Faculty Office Building (CFO) has opened for regular operations and classes. Various rooms on upper floors will be unavailable as cleanup continues in these spaces.

Austin Hall (Lowry Woods) is open and ready for occupancy, except for a few rooms with water damage.

While the Visual Arts Building is open, please note the elevator in this building is not working. As a result, many class locations have been relocated within the building to ensure accessibility.

The Alumni House has opened for regular operations.

Portions of Hubbard Hall (2nd Floor) will be made available for classroom space on Monday, March 1. However, all other operations in the building remain closed while repairs continue, including the Redbud Theater Complex, TWU Bookstore (online bookstore available) and dining options. Those entering the building for classes will need to do so from the east entrance.

The following buildings/areas remain closed as repairs continue from last week’s winter storm.

  • Administration Conference Tower (ACT), except for 1st floor

Denton Campus Update - Feb. 24, 2021, 6 p.m.

The Fine Arts Annex is now open for regular operations for those with key card access. 

The Visual Arts Building will open on Feb. 25  for those with key card access. The elevator in this building is not working.

The following buildings/areas remain closed as repairs continue from last week’s winter storm.

  • Alumni House

Denton Campus Update - Feb. 21, 2021, 5:30 p.m.

The following buildings/areas are closed on the Denton campus until further notice due to damage incurred during last week’s weather events.

  • Administration Conference Tower (ACT), except for 1st floor
  • Alumni House
  • Austin Hall (in Lowry Woods)
  • Classroom Faculty Office Building (CFO)
  • Guinn/Stark Commons C-store and computer cluster
  • Fine Arts Annex
  • Hubbard Hall/Redbud Theater Complex, including TWU Bookstore (online bookstore available)
  • Visual Arts Building

Additionally, the Denton Financial Aid office has temporarily relocated to Brackenridge Hall (rooms 116 and 117) while repairs are made to ACT.

University Update - Feb. 20, 2021, 10 a.m.

Dallas

  • Resuming normal in-person instruction on Monday, Feb. 22, as the building is operational.
  • No city-wide boil water order.

Houston

  • Sunday, Feb. 21, 5:30 p.m. update: Boil notice for Houston has been lifted.
  • Still will hold virtual instruction on Monday, Feb. 22, and in-person instruction on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
  • Business support operations and student services will be available virtually on Monday and will resume normal operations on Tuesday.

Denton

  • As of 4:15 p.m., Sat., Feb. 20, water on campus no longer needs to be boiled for drinking/use. Campus residents can use tap water following the lifting of Denton's boil water notice.
  • To give Facilities time to do their repairs, instruction will be virtual next week.  We will assess the ability to offer labs and clinicals as the week progresses.
  • Several buildings and areas remain unavailable next week due to damage to life safety systems and the need for major restoration work.  Hubbard Hall, CFO, and the Fine Arts building, in particular, have sustained damage. The life safety system in ACT is impaired,  however, we expect access to the 1st floor will be available.
  • We expect that normal building access will be restored Monday, with the exception of certain buildings as noted above.
  • The Blagg Huey Library will be open and available for resource and internet use. 
  • Student Services and Business Operations will resume on Monday. 
  • Services located in CFO (Disability Services) and Hubbard Hall (SGA, Student Union & Conference Services, Diversity, Inclusion and Outreach, retail dining) will not be open Monday.  
  • The Financial Aid office located on the 2nd floor of ACT will relocate to Brackenridge Hall beginning Monday, Feb. 22.

Other details

  • All three campuses will remain closed over the weekend.  
  • Employees are expected to resume work on Monday, Feb. 22. Coordinate with your supervisor.  
  • Although many students were unable to work this past week, supervisors are asked to work with their student/graduate assistants to ensure they  are not penalized for the time the university was closed and can be paid for this time.  
  • Some faculty, staff and students may lack reliable internet access. Please be flexible.
