TWU student participates in WCC panel

July 27, 2020 — DENTON — On Tuesday, July 28, TWU’s own Uzochi Onwukwe, Student Government Association President, will participate in a virtual town hall with Democratic Vice Presidential contender and five-term Congressional Representative Karen Bass (D-CA) to discuss matters of importance to student leaders from our women’s colleges.

Student leaders from women’s college across the nation will lead the 1-hour conversation, and they will have the opportunity to formulate their own questions and talk directly with Rep. Bass.

The event is hosted by the Women’s College Coalition and is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. PT/2:30 p.m. ET. The event is free, but requires pre-registration https://msmu.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_kmQGEClpSxS61Iq8HS_QEg.

Karen Bass is Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. The conversation is expected to touch upon various issues spanning women’s leadership, gender equity, racial injustice and other matters of importance to the WCC community.
