TWU Career Connections launches new digital platform

January 8, 2020 — Denton — Texas Woman’s University has launched a new digital platform designed to improve student engagement, optimize communication and cultivate a career culture on campus.

The platform, developed in partnership with uConnect, will serve as the university’s online career hub with streamlined content that is tailored to match the unique interests of students and alumni. Visitors to the new Career Connections site will find resources, opportunities and events curated by campuses and academic colleges.

According to Laura Shackelford, director of the TWU Career Connections Center, the platform will provide easy access to resources and support, not only for students and alumni but also for faculty, staff, prospective students and employers.

“We’ve designed the platform to make it easy for faculty and staff to refer students to the right resources at the right time, for alumni to find career resources or get involved supporting current students and for employers to easily engage with TWU,” said Shackelford. “Additionally, prospective students and families will be able to see for themselves how rich and engaging the career development experience is at TWU.”

Users are encouraged to login to the site and select content preferences. Then they will receive information about upcoming Career Connections Center events, news or tips based on their selections.

Last fall, the TWU community gathered to learn about the many ways the site can be leveraged to boost student success and streamline cross-campus collaboration.
