Mendez-Grant elected to TCCSAO Board

Jun. 6, 2022 — DENTON — Texas Woman’s University Vice President for Student Life, Monica Mendez-Grant, Ed.D., was recently elected to the executive board of the Texas Council of Chief Student Affairs Officers (TCCSAO) as the chair-elect.

Her appointment will begin immediately, and she will remain chair-elect until October 2023. She will then be slated to serve as chair from October 2023 until October 2025.

“I consider it a great honor to serve on the TCCSAO executive board,” said Mendez-Grant. “I look forward to meeting with other student affairs peers across the state and having those important conversations that serve to help our profession and TWU deal with changes in the Texas higher education landscape.”

TCCSAO, a state association, facilitates communication among the chief student affairs officers of Texas public higher education institutions and serves as a resource for information regarding legislative and other governmental activities. As the chair-elect, Mendez-Grant’s role will be to observe the chair in preparation for her own term as chair as well as coordinate and supervise committees and coordinate special programs, including the annual summer retreat for public university chief student affairs officers.

Serving as the Vice President for Student Life at TWU since 2014 and with more than 20 years of experience in various areas of student affairs, Mendez-Grant is committed to supporting the academic and personal development of TWU students. 

She holds a doctorate degree in higher education administration, a master’s degree in counseling and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Texas.
