Greek Awards Announced

Apr. 9, 2020 — DENTON — Members of TWU's Greek Life continue to connect with each other despite the challenges of COVID-19. Greek Awards for the 2019-2020 academic year were announced via TWU Greek Life’s Instagram and Facebook stories on April 8 where more than 400 people participated in the awards reveal on social media.

"Fraternities and sororities provide a supportive community for members that foster relationships that last a lifetime. They work hard to provide programs and serve the larger communities to create a positive, lasting impact," said Taylor Sandoval, assistant director of leadership and greek life.

This year’s award winners include:

• Highest Sorority Grade Point Average: Alpha Omicron Pi
• Highest Fraternity Grade Point Average: Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
• Outstanding Chapter: Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Sigma Sigma Sigma Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc.
• Chapter of the Year: Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc.
• Outstanding Sorority Woman of The Year: Marialuisa Feliciano - Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc.
• Outstanding Fraternity Man of the Year: Andrew Tovar - Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity Inc.
• Outstanding President of the Year: Aime Limones - Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc.
• Outstanding Advisor of The Year: Joan Park Saunders - Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Inc.
• Best Leadership Program: Money Good - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
• Best Healthy Choices Program: Let's Talk about Sex - Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc.
• Best Co-sponsorship Program: Pink Promises - Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. & Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
• Best Community Service/Philanthropy Program: Oh Baby! -Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
