David Sweeten to serve as new AVP for Auxiliary Services
February 29, 2024— Denton — Texas Woman’s University, Division of Student Life has promoted longtime TWU employee, David Sweeten, to assistant vice president for auxiliary services. He begins his new role on March 18.
Sweeten joined TWU 19 years ago and has served in progressively responsible roles throughout his tenure, including his most recent position as the director of the Student Union and Conference Services.
“David has a passion for advancing students and connecting the university with the Denton community,” said Monica Mendez-Grant, Ed.D., vice president for Student Life.
In his new position, Sweeten will oversee vending services, the bookstore, parking services, ID services, housing, dining, student union and conference services. The position carries responsibilities for contracts within Student Life, and the AVPAS will serve as the primary divisional point of contact with third-party vendors. Responsibilities include managerial leadership, oversight of budgets, working with directors to ensure personnel development and safety, capital forecasting, and strategic planning.
