Vivienne Born is an Assistant Professor of Political Science in the Department of History and Political Science at Texas Woman’s University, where she teaches courses in International Relations and Comparative Politics. She earned her B.A. in International Affairs and Economics at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and completed her Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania in 2019.

Vivienne conducts research in the field of international political economy, exploring the structural changes and political consequences associated with globalization. Specifically, her work has focused on the political economy of international migration and the corporate political activity of multinational firms. Vivienne’s dissertation, Getting the Best of Us, uses spatial regression analysis to examine the relationship between multinational corporate networks and the recent international diffusion of merit-based immigration policies. Vivienne’s research has been supported by grants from the Browne Center for International Politics, the Perry World House, and the Charles Koch Foundation.
