Registration for Panhellenic Recruitment is open to all eligible undergraduate women, including first-time in college and transfer students. The three chapters in our Panhellenic Council that are recognized by the university include:

Students interested in joining a Panhellenic sorority will be expected to attend all of the following recruitment events:

September 11
Orientation 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

September 12
Meet and Greet 2:30 - 7:00 p.m.

September 13
Philanthropy Day 1:00 - 6:30 p.m.

September 14
Preference and Bid Day 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Individual Chapter Bid Day Events 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

What should I know before I join?

Research the organizations and read every bit of information there is to know about them. Go to each individual sorority’s national website to see what might interest you and what may be your best fit.

What are the eligibility requirements?

Any undergraduate woman enrolled fulltime (12 hours) at TWU may participate in recruitment. The Office of Sorority & Fraternity Life has a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5 for membership. Some chapters may have a higher GPA requirement.

What are the financial obligations of joining?

Formal Recruitment registration is $35. This includes snacks, t-shirt, and sisterhood activities taking place September 11-14. Once making a commitment to a chapter, the cost varies. Ask about these costs and payment plans during your recruitment process.

What will I get out of a sorority membership that I would not get out of other college organizations?

The sorority experience fosters lifelong friendships, leadership, scholarship, philanthropy, and financial responsibility, creating a supportive, close-knit community and a home away from home.

What can I expect as a New Member?

New members undergo a chapter orientation experience with weekly meetings to learn the history of their new sisterhood, community service, and activities that foster lifelong sisterhood bonds.

Is hazing a part of sorority life?

Sorority & Fraternity Life at TWU strictly forbids hazing. Hazing is a violation of University policy, Texas state law,
and Federal law.
