Assistant Dean of Students
Title IX Coordinator/Director for Student Accountability and Growth Education Center
Shannon Taylor, Ed.D., serves as the assistant dean of students, the Title IX coordinator and the director for the Student Accountability and Growth Education Center. She received her bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience and her master’s degree is Higher Education Student Affairs Administration from Baylor University. She completed her doctorate at California Lutheran University with a research agenda focused on women’s leadership development and spiritual formation. Dr. Taylor has worked and taught in higher education for more than 20 years and aspires to create meaningful connections with everyone she encounters.

Toby Wilkerson
Associate Director and Civil Rights Investigator
Toby’s role at TWU includes investigations, the student code of conduct process and helping the Student Accountability and Growth Education Center build proactive initiatives related to student success, civility and civic engagement. He earned both his bachelor’s in Human Resource Development and master’s in Business Administration and Organization Development from the University of Texas at Tyler.

Ashton Middleton-Brown
Investigator & Coordinator for Student Accountability and Growth Education Center
Arkansas-native, Ashton Middleton-Brown graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Addiction Studies and from Arkansas State University-Jonesboro in 2018 with a master’s degree in College Student Personnel Services. Ashton is currently working on her doctorate in Education, Leadership, & Organization at Texas Woman’s University. Ashton’s role at TWU includes investigations, specifically academic integrity and student conduct cases, as well as collaborating with other departments and student groups in programming and leadership efforts.

John C. Rentz
Legal Services Advisor for Student Accountability and Growth Education Center
Raised in Louisiana, John C. Rentz graduated from Louisiana State University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration-Accounting. From there, he moved to Texas to attend law school at The University of Houston Law Center where he graduated in 2001 with honors.

Delaney Castor
Student Retention and Support Specialist and Pregnant & Parenting Liaison
Delaney Castor serves as the Student Retention & Support Specialist in the Dean of Students Office and the Pregnant and Parenting Liaison in the Title IX Office here at Texas Woman’s University. Her role is to ensure that all students feel support and have access to any information about the resources they need to succeed. She received her bachelor of arts degree in history from Howard Payne University in 2022 and her master of science in administration from Tarleton State University in 2023.
