Global landscape group recognizes TWU’s grounds for excellence
Oct. 30, 2023 — DENTON — A global organization focused on landscape management has recognized Texas Woman’s University as being among the nation’s higher education institutions with the best grounds.
The Professional Grounds Management Society® specifically recognized Texas Woman’s Denton and Dallas campuses for exceptional grounds-keeping during the society’s 2023 Green Star Awards celebration on Oct. 19 in Louisville, Kentucky.
In all, 17 educational institutions were recognized with a Grand Award (the highest honor), an Honor Award or the Sustainability Award. The Texas Woman’s campuses received the Honor Award in the competition’s mid-size college category. The society has recognized Texas Woman’s seven times since 2007.
“We are thrilled that the outstanding work of our devoted grounds crew has been recognized seven times by PGMS,” said Robert Trevino, TWU’s manager of landscape operations. “This ongoing recognition reflects the strong commitment our team has for keeping the university’s green spaces beautiful year round.”
