November brings us Nick Payne’s beautiful and haunting Constellations, directed by assistant professor Noah Lelek, Ph.D. Constellations follows the unlikely love story between a beekeeper and a cosmologist. The spring semester opens in February with the world premiere of a new translation of Sophocles’ Electra. Ariana Cook, a TWU alumna and managing director for Cara Mia Theatre, will direct. Cook and her translator, Branden Kosch, Ph.D., of the University of Dallas, will collaborate to produce a new and powerful interpretation of Sophocles’ classic tragedy of a woman’s unquenchable rage and her revenge against a society that insists on silencing her. Electra runs February 10-14, 2021.

The season will conclude in April with Patrick Bynane, Ph.D., directing the Broadway classic On the Town. Leonard Bernstein’s first musical follows the misadventures of three sailors on 24 hours of shore leave in New York City. The young men follow their hearts into trouble and romance.
