The Birds, written by Conor McPherson, was adapted for the stage from Daphne du Maurier’s novelette published in 1952 – the same novella that inspired Alfred Hitchcock’s legendary film. When relentless flocks of birds begin attacking people at high tide, two strangers find themselves vying for shelter and supplies. They begin to form a fragile bond, one that threatens to shatter when another mysterious survivor arrives.
The cast of The Birds features undergraduate theatre students Alandra Baptiste, Walker Delk, Michael Diaz and Bryce Neel.
The production will also feature undergraduate theatre designers, including Claire Parry, props artisan; Patrick Bohmier, light designer; Lauren Jordan, master electrician; Long Ho, sound designer; Emma Smith, set designer; and Sarah Updegrove, costume designer. Alicia Dailey and Sydney Sandburg will serve as stage manager and assistant stage manager, respectively.
