June 6, 2018 – Texas Woman’s University senior Emily Galbraith has been appointed by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to serve as the next student representative on the Texas Woman’s University Board of Regents. Her term expires May 31, 2019.

Abbott’s office announced the appointment of Galbraith and nine other student regents in Texas to their respective university boards on June 5.

Galbraith, of Waxahachie, is pursuing a degree in communications sciences and disorders and is scheduled to graduate in 2019. She serves as a liaison between students and staff for the university’s Center for Student Leadership and is president of TWU’s Omicron Delta Kappa Circle, which is tied to the national leadership honor society. Additionally, Galbraith volunteers as a tutor at McNair Elementary School in Denton and as a curriculum assistant at Cross Timbers Community Church.

Galbraith succeeds outgoing student regent Rachel Iacobucci, who graduated in May.
