TWU presents ArtsWalk: Emerging Stories April 5
March 20, 2018 – DENTON – The Texas Woman’s University School of the Arts invites area residents to join students, faculty and staff for ArtsWalk: Emerging Stories. Event participants will explore new perspectives in adaptive spaces around the TWU library fountain, in Redbud Theater Complex room 204, and in the Dance-Gymnastics Laboratory Building (DGL). This free, all-ages event will be held on TWU’s Denton campus from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 5.
This year’s ArtsWalk will feature two interdisciplinary performance collaborations. Ilana Morgan, assistant professor of dance, and Noah Lelek, assistant professor of theatre, will present a short, intergenerational community theatre and dance work created through text and movement by using the performers’ memories and personal stories. Matthew Henley, assistant professor of dance, and artist Jana Perez will create a series of visual and kinetic installations which will transform the DGL space into an immersive gallery. Performances by TWU dance, music, theatre and visual arts faculty and students will also highlight this event.
