Sasha Dietz

Sasha Dietz is a proud alumnus of The University of Texas at San Antonio college of Liberal and Fine Arts and a current graduate student at Texas Woman’s University School of Music. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a focus in Choral Studies in December of 2021 and is currently seeking a master’s degree in Music Therapy as of August 2022. Her principal instrument is Voice and performs as a coloratura soprano in the classical style. She is a former Soprano Vocalist of the Worthy People Church Worship team in San Antonio, TX, the University United Methodist Church Modern Worship Band in San Antonio, TX, the University United Methodist Believer’s Garden Worship, the University United Methodist Wednesday Night Live Worship, the UTSA Chamber Singers, and the UTSA Concert Choir. She studied voice under Dr. Sarah Tedesco, Dr. Diana Allan, Dr. Susan Olson, and Dr. Jourdan Laine Howell in San Antonio, TX and is currently studying voice under Dr. Patricia Vigil in Denton, TX.

During her undergraduate education, she discovered her passion for helping others with music through her involvement with the Sigma Alpha Iota Sisterhood Sorority and volunteering her services with Hearts Need Art and shadowing other music therapists in the San Antonio area. She has learned that taking this career path to give back to the same communities that helped her and her family with music during times of physical suffering, emotional grief, and mental exhaustion, is part of learning to love herself and follow the call that The Lord has placed on her life. She hopes to work in pediatric hospital care and veteran civil service after graduation, and one day open her own practice based on the same Christian principles and values that have carried her this far into her education. She believes that success lies in not her own strength, but the strength The Lord provides her with to spread compassion, kindness, joy, and empathy to her colleagues, clients, and all those who cross her path through her gifts of music.
