Profile

Dr. Nathan Ingrim is a professional oboist and educator from Central Texas. He currently holds the position of Principal Oboe with the Dallas Winds (formerly the Dallas Wind Symphony) and is Professor of Oboe at TWU. He began his musical studies at an early age, studying both oboe and piano. As a performer, he has won numerous awards and made his Carnegie Hall solo recital debut in the spring of 2019. He is currently based in Dallas and is a frequent performer with The Dallas Opera and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he has performed in such ensembles as The Charleston Symphony Orchestra, The Fort Worth Symphony, The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, and The Civic Orchestra of Chicago.

Dr. Ingrim maintains a thriving oboe studio in North Texas. Many of his students have gone on to pursue music performance degrees with notable universities and conservatories.

His primary teachers include Erin Hannigan, Dr. Mark Ostoich, Dwight Parry, Dr. Eric Ohlsson, and Dr. Doris DeLoach. He has studied additionally with members of the Pittsburgh Symphony, The New York Philharmonic, The Fort Worth Symphony, The Cleveland Orchestra, and The Atlanta Symphony. He is an alumnus of the National Orchestral Institute Festival, Eastern Music Festival, The Hot Spring Music Festival, among others.
