Natasha Bekker
Adjunct Instructor of Music
American soprano Natasha Bekker is an educator passionate about music and medicine. As a distinguished performer, she has been seen on ESPN singing the national anthem and has appeared in operas such as Les Dialogues des Carmélites, L’incoronazione di Poppea and Gianni Schicchi. Ms. Bekker was the lead flamenco singer with the Conte de Loyo dance troupe and she continues to sing opera professionally in the DFW area.
Ms. Bekker pursued a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music in New York City and transferred to the University of North Texas to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She continued her studies at the University of North Texas receiving a Masterof Music in Vocal Performance and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance with a related field in Performing Arts Health.
Ms. Bekker was appointed a teaching fellowship in voice at the University of North Texas from 2021-2024 serving undergraduate and graduate students. She is excited to join Texas Woman's University in the fall of 2024 and enjoys a private studio in-person and online with international students from Norway to China. She is also the founder of Plano Free Music Lessons that provides music education to underserved communities in North Texas since 2018.
Her passion in helping others and seeing the great need for doctors during the pandemic has propelled her towards pre-medical studies in becoming an osteopathic doctor. She hopes to serve musicians in the future as both an educator and medical professional.
