Profile

Jamie Rives is an adjunct instructor of Music Theory at TWU and a Visiting Lecturer of Music Education at the University of North Texas where she teaches undergraduate courses in elementary music, coordinates the Early Childhood Music Program and is a field supervisor for clinical teachers. 

Rives taught elementary music for 13 years at Denton ISD, where she presented professional development and served on the curriculum team as lead curriculum writer and lead elementary music teacher.  Prior to that, she taught elementary music in Grapevine Colleyville ISD. 

Rives is also a mentor teacher for first-third year elementary music teachers in Frisco ISD, and Associate Director of Music for Children and Youth at First United Methodist Church Denton. She regularly presents professional development and is an instructional coach in the DFW area.
