From Jilin, China, Hongling Liang is a distinguished solo pianist and chamber musician. Her talent and devotion have been represented on stages across the globe.
Following her Bachelor's degree in China, Liang embarked on a musical adventure, earning scholarships to esteemed music schools. Her path led to a Master's degree from Longy School of Music of Bard College and an Artist Diploma from Columbus State University. Setting her sights higher, Liang now pursuing a doctorate in Collaborative Piano at the University of North Texas.
Liang has been mentored by the wisdom of piano luminaries who have left an indelible mark on her artistry. Under the legendary like Peter Serkin, the visionary Rieko Aizawa (founder of Horszowski Trio), the triumphant Van Cliburn gold medalist Alexander Kobrin, the insightful Steven Harlos, the innovative Elvia Puccinelli, and other distinguished mentors, her time in the U.S. has been a period of profound transformation and boundless growth.
Liang's mastery extends to both solo and collaborative works, gracing Her captivating performances have echoed in iconic venues like Jordan Hall, Granoff Music Center, Xinghai Concert Hall, and more in both China and the US.
Liang's achievements include prizes from the Hong Kong International Piano Competition and the Macaw International Piano Competition. Beyond the stage, she collaborates in prestigious events like the HEIDA HERMANNS International String Competition and the conference of the International Clarinet Association. Recently, Liang received the honor of Distinguished Artist in the Collaborative Piano Competition in Puerto Rico.
As an accomplished pianist with musical and pedagogical insight, Liang had joined Louisiana Tech University as a visiting piano faculty to express her talent to the new generations.
