Profile

Mr. Andrew Greear is a native Texan and has been performing professionally since 2015. After being selected as a finalist in the T-Bone Walker Blues Festival Junior Showcase in 2015, he gained valuable playing experience performing in his band for three years. In 2016, Andrew Greear’s band was asked to perform at the T-Bone Walker Blues Festival, and he was asked to judge the Junior Showcase that launched his career.
After high school, Andrew Greear studied at Texas Woman's University where he received his BA in Music Performance and his MM in Music Pedagogy. He studied under Carlo Pezzimenti who helped foster his love for classical guitar. Andrew Greear was twice nominated for the University's Honors Recital, being selected as a finalist in 2023. Under Mr. Pezzimenti’s teaching, Mr. Greear excelled in the classical guitar and was invited to perform at many of the university’s private events. Mr. Greear worked closely with Dr. Patricia Evans, M.D., Ph.D., as a co-author in her research on the positive impact of using music to engage autistic and cognitively impaired children in telehealth settings. In this role, he taught neurologists how to play ukulele.
Andrew Greear has been teaching all styles of guitar since 2018. He is deeply passionate about teaching his students the beautiful artistry of the guitar. Through patience and dedicated instruction, he motivates and encourages his students to reach high levels of proficiency in any genre. His goal is to teach guitar holistically through the understanding of theory, tone, phrasing, technique, and a genuine love for the instrument. His students have consistently achieved high marks for their musicality and technical ability.
