Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the largest fraternity for musical students in America, was founded on October 6, 1898, at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, as a way for old and new men of the conservatory to mingle in mutual musical uplift. Today, the aim of the fraternity is much the same. In a culture of competition among musicians, Sinfonians aim to bring them together and build up all. Sinfonians, brothers of the Fraternity, engage in service, sociability, musical activity, and philanthropy, including the Mills Music Mission, wherein brothers go to sing for those in hospitals or assisted living to lift their spirits.

Membership in Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is limited to men, but it is not limited to music majors. Membership may be conferred on any man who has a love of music and, through that love, can help further the object of the fraternity:

"The Object of this Fraternity shall be for the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit, the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students, the advancement of music in America, and a loyalty to the Alma Mater."

Texas Woman’s University is home to the Sigma Pi Chapter. The Sigma Pi chapter was chartered on April 12, 2019. The chapter is always looking for men to join its ranks who are willing to work to build better men through music.
