Mary Anne Alhadeff, Women’s Leadership Advocate

Mary Anne Alhadeff is an Emmy Award-winning television producer of public affairs and cultural programming, retired public broadcasting CEO, and former Executive Director/Chief Officer of the Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership at Texas Woman’s University.  A graduate of St.  Catherine’s University in St.  Paul, Minnesota, Mary Anne is a lifelong advocate for advancing women to leadership roles in business and public service.  

As CEO of North Texas Public Broadcasting Mary Anne led the creation of innovative arts, business, and news programming earning the station’s first national Edward R. Murrow Award for outstanding journalism.  Her strategic plan for the organization elevated the importance of local news and led to the creation of “The Texas Newsroom”, a ground-breaking collaboration between NPR and Texas public radio stations.

Mary Anne has served on the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships and the executive committees of PBS, the National Educational Television Association, the State of Maine Compact for Higher Education and the Hockaday School.  She is the recipient of a lifetime achievement award from North Texas Business Council for the Arts, the PRISM Award from Mental Health America, and was named a Global Leadership Honoree by the United Nations Association.
