Jo Ann Reyes, former Deputy Chief Judge Municipal Court, City of Fort Worth

Judge Jo Ann Salazar Reyes retired from the City of Fort Worth as the Deputy Chief Judge in October 2018 after 21 years of service as a municipal judge. As a Municipal Court Judge, she presided over Class C misdemeanors, heard evidence for Bench and Jury trials. Judge Reyes also oversaw the Deferred Disposition cases and Probation Revocation cases. She reviewed and signed Felony Arrest Warrants. Judge Reyes also served as a Magistrate for Felony and Misdemeanor cases, reviewed and signed Blood warrants and reviewed EPO’s (Emergency Protective Orders) and ordered Mental Health observations at the Tarrant County Jail on a rotating basis until the City of Fort Worth and Tarrant County ended their contract. She also presided over Code Compliance cases and Truancy Juvenile cases. As the Deputy Chief Judge, she supervised 10 judges and handled administrative matters for the municipal court.

Prior to serving as a Municipal Court Judge, Judge Reyes owned and managed a law practice specializing in criminal, civil, family, and immigration law.

Judge Jo Ann Salazar Reyes is currently working as a Part-Time Associate Municipal Court Judge for the City of Arlington and has been since January 2022.
