Cheryl Moore, Mayor, City of Flower Mound

In May 2024, Cheryl Moore was elected to a three-year term as Mayor of the Town of Flower Mound. She has been a proud resident of Flower Mound for 19 years and has raised two extraordinary children in the community.

Originally from Ohio, Cheryl spent most of her childhood in Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s in physical therapy. As someone who is always learning and expanding, she is now completing her Doctor of Science at Texas Tech University. 

Cheryl has been a physical therapist for about 30 years and currently works at Select Rehabilitation Hospital in Denton. She has worked in a variety of leadership roles in addition to patient care, including business operations, consulting, teaching, and management. She helps lead a post-rehabilitative support group and is an active member of a brain injury committee. Her passion is working with amputees and traumatic brain injury survivors.  

Prior to her election, Cheryl was a Flower Mound Planning and Zoning and SMARTGrowth Commissioner, and she previously served as vice chair on the Transportation Commission. She has always loved being involved in the community and previously graduated from both the Flower Mound Citizens Police Academy and Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. Additionally, she served as president of the Chaucer Estates HOA and has volunteered for various roles with the Lewisville Independent School District (LISD), including with the Marcus High School band and Marquettes. She enjoys the arts and served as a volunteer for Lake Cities Ballet Theater and the Ballet Ensemble of Texas for many years.
