Unsung Saint
Composed and directed by Dr. Joni Jensen and performed by the TWU Concert Choir
Unsung Saint Lyrics
The lyrics for Unsung Saint come from the inscription on the base of the Pioneer Woman statue and were written by Jesse H. Humphries, Dean of Women.
Marking a trail in a pathless wilderness pressing forward with unswerving courage she met each untried situation with a resourcefulness equal to the need. With a glad heart she brought to her frontier family her homelands cultural heritage. With delicate spiritual sensitiveness she illumed the dullness of routine and the loneliness of isolation with beauty and with life abundant and withal she lived with casual unawareness of her value to civilization. Such was the pioneer woman the unsung saint of the nations immortals.
Alma Mater
Performed by the TWU Choir
Hail Alma Mater! Hail! Joyous we sing;
Voices atune with love shall loudly ring.
Thy students sing today praises to thee,
Hail! Texas Woman's University.On broad and rolling plains, 'neath Texas skies,
There, crowned with majesty, thy buildings rise.
Thou hast with purpose new lighted our way.
Hail! Alma Mater! Hear our songs today.
