You're a Pioneer

At Texas Woman’s University, we understand the transition to college is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. That’s why we designed First-Year Experience to connect students to resources and support beyond the classroom.

Our mission is to ensure that every Pioneer has the tools to succeed – in college and beyond – through learning communities, academic support and personalized guidance.

Welcome to your first year at TWU!

First-Year Interest Groups

If you’re not part of a living and learning community, a First-Year Interest Group (FIG) may be perfect for you. FIGs can help you form meaningful connections with peers while exploring shared academic interests.

Each FIG brings together students who take two or more courses, creating a built-in support network. Through collaborative projects, study sessions, and social events, you'll build friendships and enhance your learning experience.
