Texas Transfer Grant
The Texas Transfer Grant provides need-based financial aid to Texas students who enroll in four-year institutions of higher education within 12 months of earning an associate degree. Funds for this program are limited and award amounts will vary based on funding and individual student eligibility.
Students cannot receive both a TEXAS Grant and a Texas Transfer Grant.
Eligibility
To be awarded this grant, you must:
- Be a Texas resident
- Register for Selective Service if required
- Have financial need as determined by the FAFSA or TASFA
- Enroll no later than 12 months after earning an associate degree with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA from a Texas public junior college, public state college, or public technical institute
- Have fewer than 135 attempted semester credit hours
- Enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student
Renewal requirements
Renewal Texas Transfer Grant funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis with priority give to students who have completed a FAFSA or TASFA and meet all program renewal requirements. A renewal Texas Transfer Grant is not guaranteed.
- Meet SAP requirements
- Not exceed 150 attempted semester credit hours while receiving the grant. Attempted hours includes all courses in every semester you registered for, including transferred, repeated, dropped and withdrawn courses.
Eligibility ends
- 2 years from the start of the semester you enrolled at TWU, or
- When you enroll beyond 150 credit hours, or
- When you graduate with a baccaluareate degree.
