TEXAS Grant
The TEXAS (Toward Excellence, Access and Success) Grant is a need-based program for Texas resident students pursuing their first-degree. The TEXAS Grant covers the full cost of tuition & fees through a combination of state, federal and institutional grants and scholarships. TEXAS Grant is available during fall and spring semesters.

Towards Excellence Grant (TEXAS grant) eligibility requirements to maintain and renew the grant each year:
- Demonstrate financial “need” based on FAFSA or TASFA SAI
- Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements
- Successfully complete 24 credit hours per academic year (Fall and Spring)
- Maintain an overall (cumulative) grade point average of at least 2.5
- Minimum enrollment requirement is at least 9 credit hours per semester
- Must not exceed 150 cumulative credit hours
Students entering the program from high school can receive awards for up to 150 semester credit hours, until they receive a bachelor’s degree, or for five years if enrolled in a four-year degree plan, whichever comes first. Students entering the program with an associate’s degree can receive awards for up to 90 semester credit hours, until they receive a bachelor’s degree, or for three years if enrolled in a four-year degree plan, whichever comes first.
