WOW (Where is Oakley Writing)?

Ready to strengthen your writing habits and reach your scholarly goals?
Where is Oakley Writing (WOW) is a program designed to help faculty carve out protected time for scholarship, accountability, and community—one writing session at a time. Each month, participants join a two-week, self-paced writing journey created to spark consistency, connection, and momentum.

For every 20 minutes of focused writing, Oakley travels six virtual miles—turning words into flight! Along the way, participants have celebrated publications, grant proposals, creative works, and renewed energy in their writing lives.

All WOW events are offered online through Canvas.

Feb 9-20th -- Sign up by Feb 4. Oakley heads to the Galápagos Islands — where evolution, exploration, and inspiration take flight! As you dedicate time to your scholarly writing, Oakley will visit volcanic landscapes, giant tortoises, and the islands that shaped Darwin’s theory of discovery.
March 9-20th -- Sign up by March 4. Oakley’s next stop is the land of fire and ice! From Reykjavík’s creative heartbeat to the northern lights shimmering across the horizon, Iceland offers endless wonder.
April 6-17th -- Sign up by April 1. Oakley glides toward Portugal’s sunlit coasts and cobblestone streets. Write your way through Portugal’s colorful history and help Oakley finish the semester strong — one inspired page at a time.
