Biography
A native of France, Dr. Ludovic A. Sourdot holds degrees in History (Maîtrise d'Histoire-Université Jean-Monnet, Saint-Etienne), Broadcast Journalism (B.S., Arkansas State University), Secondary Education (M.Ed., Texas State University--San Marcos) and Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis in Culture and Curriculum). (Ph.D., Texas A&M). Dr. Sourdot's current research focuses on the pedagogical possibilities television programming offer for visual culture/popular culture studies and teacher education; his work in the area has been published in a variety of edited collections. He recently co-edited Educating Through Popular Culture: You Are Not Cool Just Because You Teach with Comics with Edward Janak for Lexington Books. He is the co-series editor (with Edward Janak) of the Education and Popular Culture series for Lexington Books. Dr. Sourdot is currently serving as the Vice-President for the Northeast Region of the Texas Council of Faculty Senates and is the co-founder of the Future Classroom Lab at Texas Woman's University (TWUFCL).
