Biography

Amy Lanier's dissertation research centers around information grounds as information commons and how proximity in common ground spaces can alter perspectives and lead to deeper understanding between individuals with starkly contrasting viewpoints. 

Lanier holds a current Texas School Librarian Certification and spent twenty years working in Texas K-12 public schools. She served as an academic librarian at Texas Woman's University Libraries, first as Manager of Student and Community Engagement Services, then as Manager of Access Services.

Lanier has served as a SLIS faculty member since the Spring 2020 semester. She teaches the following SLIS courses: Information Sources and Services, School Library Management, School Library Collaborations. and Foundations of Library and Information Studies.
