Biography

Dr. Shin has been in nursing practice for 17 years and then in nursing education with teaching experience across nursing programs (UG, Master’s, DNP, and PhD) for 14 years. Her program of research focus on health promoting lifestyle changes of racial/ethnic minorities who are culturally diverse and underserved to reduce cardiometabolic health disparities among those populations. From a practice perspective, she has a clinical background in medical-surgical and critical care nursing. With internal and external funding, she has implemented and tested culturally tailored interventions to promote healthy lifestyle and cardiometabolic health of Korean American adults.
