Biography
Following graduation from Texas Woman’s University (TWU) in 1984, I worked as a registered nurse at Parkland Hospital for 25 years, specializing in women’s health. Parkland is a leading provider of maternity care in the U.S averaging >10000 deliveries per year. I returned to TWU and earned my master’s degree in 2014. During graduate school, I worked first as a graduate assistant, then as a nursing lab administrator for four years. I transitioned to a faculty role in 2016, teaching in my specialty areas of women’s health and health assessment. I am a strong advocate of interactive learning and simulation.
