Biography

Jennifer has been teaching at TWU since 2005. She is a Clinical Professor and the Coordinator of the Nursing Honors Program at Texas Woman’s University. Jennifer’s clinical background is pediatric oncology; she discovered her passion for research as a Clinical Researcher at NIH, where she worked in the Pediatric Branch of the National Cancer Institute. Jennifer worked as an Oncology Nurse Education Clinician at the University of North Carolina, then coordinated Phase I and Phase II Clinical Trials at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Dallas prior to joining the faculty at TWU Dallas, where she has taught Child Health Nursing since 2005.
She earned a BSN from the University of Maryland in 1988 and a MSN (Oncology CNS) from George Mason University in 1992 She earned her DNP in Educational Leadership from American Sentinel University in 2017. She was a 2016-2017 Scholar with the Sigma Theta Tau International’s Experienced Nurse Faculty Leadership Academy and established a team of TWU nursing faculty who created an innovative nursing honors curriculum and several other strategic initiatives. She is a founding member of the International Nursing Consortium of Honors Educators & Scholars and she consults with other nursing honors program leaders. Jennifer has served on several Pediatric Nursing Certification Board committees since 2014, and is a member of the UTSW Neuroscience Nursing Research Center Board.
