Biography

I began my nursing journey as an LVN. I took a short break from nursing school to begin working and then began an ADN program where I received my RN license. At this point I knew that I wanted to achieve my master level education so I immediately proceeded to begin the next step in the process by obtaining my BSN and then immediately began applying to graduate school. I did my student teaching on the TWU Dallas campus and was able to move directly into an adjunct position upon graduation. As a nurse I have worked in almost every specialty. I began wanting to do pediatrics and quickly realized that it was not really for me. I have worked in acute care, home health, offices, in trauma, ortho, cardiac tele, and now I am combining my 2 favorite pieces of neuro and geriatrics on a post surgical floor when I am not teaching. I am in my second year of a PhD program doing researcher in fall prevention in the community older adult.
