Biography
Dr. Karakkattil is an Assistant Professor of School of Physical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University. She is a Certified brain injury specialist with Brain Injury Association of America and is also LSVT Big Certified. As a physical therapist, her clinical practice was in outpatient neuro rehabilitation. Dr. Karakkattil’s research interests include evaluating interventions in improving functional mobility and gait in individuals with stroke and other neuro diagnoses. She is currently evaluating the dual task cost of walking in individuals with chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy and its influence on quality of life and fall risk . She teaches Examination, evaluation and outcomes and Practice Management to entry level physical therapy students, and Statistics to post professional physical therapy students.
