Biography

Martin G. Rosario is currently an Associate Professor at Texas Woman's University Physical Therapy School. He earned his Bachelor of Biology at the University of Puerto Rico, in 2004, his Master's in Physical Therapy in 2006 and Ph.D. in Anatomy and Neurobiology from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus in 2016.

Current Projects

The focus of my research projects is to investigate motor control deficiencies in patients with Human Inmunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Aids, employing 3D/2D motion analysis systems, electromyography and force/pressure plates.  Specifically, my studies emphasis is in comparing spatial-temporal gait parameters, joint kinematics, (standing and dynamic) balance, and neuromuscular function with “healthy” individuals while performing several functional walking and balance tasks. Recently, my research focus had expanded into understanding the influence of specific brain and central nervous system stimulants, for instance, caffeine and energy drinks, on postural motor control.
