Biography
Dr. Garcia has spent the past few years performing quantitative research on the effect blood flow restriction has on the body when performing functional activities. These findings are useful when prescribing therapeutic exercises to patient suffering from numerous musculoskeletal disorders. Past research areas have included the effects of abdominal activation strategies and cognitive distraction on lower extremity reaching during the Y- Balance Test. Future research topics include upper extremity Y-balance testing with blood flow restriction, as well as a scoping review on pickleball injuries.
