Biography
Alisa Woods, M.S. CCC-SLP is an Associate Clinical Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Texas Woman's University. She has 25 years of clinical experience in the field of Speech-Language Pathology where she has served as a clinician, a supervisor of SLP graduate students' externships and SLP-CFYs, and a Director of Rehab. She also has over 25 years of experience in adult neurogenic disorders and dysphagia, where she has explored evidenced-based treatments to enhance recovery from language, motor, cognitive and dysphagia deficits post stroke. She is trained in AMPcare's ESP protocol for neuromuscular electrical stimulation for dysphagia. She is the Externship Coordinator where she is in charge of placing over 20 graduate students each semester out in the field. She strives to find top rated sites that provide graduate students with amazing learning experiences. She is certified as a National Outcome Measurement System (NOMS) trainer, an outcome measurement tool used by the American Speech Hearing and Language Association to determine levels of severity in speech, language, and cognitive skills of adults with neurogenic disorders.
