Biography

Dr. Shazia Ahmed earned her PhD in molecular biology from Texas Woman’s University in 2001 after which she went on to work as a senior DNA analyst in BioSynthesis Inc. Dr. Ahmed joined TWU in 2004 and is now a Clinical Professor of Biology and she teaches Human Biology and Excellence in Teaching in addition to supervising teaching labs. Dr. Ahmed earned Senior Fellow status from the Higher Education Academy/Advance HE as an acknowledgement of her influence in promoting better teaching pedagogy among colleagues and junior faculty (https://www.advance-he.ac.uk/fellowship/senior-fellowship).
